How to Climb Leagues in Coach a Fighter

League gates are roster gates. Build for the average, not for one star.

Coach a Fighter Leagues panel showing locked leagues and their OVR requirements
The requirements, stated in the panel itself (DOv10j80OSM@05:42).

The requirement is an average, not a champion

This trips up almost everyone. There are four leagues, and each one asks for both more fighters and a higher average: 2 fighters at 70+ OVR, then 3 at 80+, then 4 at 90+.

A single 90 OVR Legend unlocks nothing. Two 70s unlock the second league. If you are stuck, the answer is almost always another trained fighter rather than more work on your best one.

LeagueNeedsReroll points per match
BronzeOpen from the start+1 RRP, +1 LRP
Second2 fighters avg 70+ OVR+2 RRP, +2 LRP
Third3 fighters avg 80+ OVR+3 RRP, +5 LRP
Fourth4 fighters avg 90+ OVR+5 RRP, +10 LRP

Plan in blocks, because Overall moves in blocks

Overall rises +1 per ten trainings, and ten trainings is exactly one cap cycle. So every fighter's Overall is really a count of completed cycles, and every cycle needs a match in between.

That makes the path to the second league concrete: get two fighters cycling, alternate them, and the average climbs on a predictable schedule. Running one fighter and benching the other wastes half your available cycles.

Climbing is what pays for the roster

Higher leagues do not just pay more Cash — they pay reroll points on a steep curve, and the conversion rates make the difference concrete. Three Real Reroll Points buys 3 Real Rerolls; ten Legend Reroll Points buys 3 Legend Rerolls.

So at Bronze's +1 LRP per match, three Legend Rerolls costs ten fights. In the fourth league at +10 LRP per match, it costs one. That is a tenfold difference in Legend income for the same amount of play.

Codes hand you six Legend Rerolls exactly once. The top league hands you three every single match. The roster you build to unlock a league is what funds the roster after it — which is why another trained fighter pays for itself faster than any single upgrade.

Use the free slot, then buy the third

The tutorial hands you a second fighter slot and points you at the shop for a third. Since every gate is a roster gate, slots are progression, not convenience.

Pair that with the Gym Expansion at $100,000 before the $200,000 Training Cap upgrade — capacity to run more fighters beats a higher ceiling on one of them while league gates are what is blocking you.

FAQ

How to Climb Leagues in Coach a Fighter FAQ

How do I unlock the second league in Coach a Fighter?

Two fighters averaging 70 or higher Overall. It is a roster average, so one strong fighter is not enough.

How many leagues are in Coach a Fighter?

Four. Bronze, then three locked tiers needing 2 fighters at 70+ OVR, 3 at 80+, and 4 at 90+ respectively.

Is climbing worth it?

Yes, and mostly for rerolls rather than cash. Three Legend Rerolls costs ten Bronze matches at +1 LRP each, or one match in the fourth league at +10 LRP.
